Brenda King is the newest staff member at OLQP, having joined the team in August of 2016 and is the other Dancyville resident. Her interest in cooking began as a child when her dad returned from military service. After the Army he taught all the kids to cook but Brenda noticed she especially liked baking. Brenda previously worked for Haywood County, the last few years as Assistant Manager in Meal Preparation and Service. She says her all-time favorite job is here at OLQP, saying, “Its such a place of peace. There aren’t many workplaces that come with it’s own chapel!”

Angela Lou Martin is known to most as Lou, and is one of the two retreat center’s natives of Dancyville, TN. She lives within walking distance of the retreat center and is fortunate to have many of her siblings and extended family nearby. Her husband and two children have a farm that supplies fresh produce to the retreat center. The super-fresh corn is the best! Lou started working at the retreat center in 2010 in housing but you will often see her in the kitchen as well.
